The Cotter Band program is one of the cornerstones of Cotter High School. It is an organization that prides itself on student leadership, teamwork, commitment and individual responsibility. This comprehensive music program includes an award-winning marching band, two concert bands, four jazz ensembles and a solo ensemble program.
The Cotter band program has been under the direction of Dave Gudmastad for the past 21 years. As chairman of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Cotter High School, Mr. Gudmastad directs the 130 member marching band, the Symphonic and Concert Bands, two of the jazz ensembles, the pep band, and numerous small ensembles.
Cotter High School is an institution with a strong performing arts tradition. Over 70% of the student body participates in some aspect of the music program.
